Works good! Used it by sending it down a floor drain to find a tie in point to rough in a basement bathroom and I was able to, I was surprised lol

So I rated this 4 stars only because the speaker in the wand is pretty useless unless the signal is really strong. And the line could be a little more sturdy as if it hits slight resistance it stops moving. But other than that it was very much a great help for me locating some subterranean pipe for my septic leach field

I bought this to figure out 1. where a blockage is in my kitchen drain 2. where the drain pipes go so I can minimize cutting of dry-wall Problem 1: the probe would not charge with a modern high-power USB C charger. An low-power charger did work. Not a big problem once you know it. Problem 2: the probe would not go through an elbow in the drain pipe. So I cannot use the device. It seems like a reasonable device, but not for my problem. Not for pipes with elbows.+-

Don't waste your money, unless you're locating a line that you can already see. Brand new, out of the box, and fully charged, I tried locating the transmitter sitting on the floor, and the locator had to be less than a foot away to detect anything with it turned to Max. Tried it in a piece of pipe as a test, one that I knew the exact route of, and it didn't pick anything up except for electrical interference, even though that pipe is less than a foot underground. I measured the distance, put the receiver directly over where that transmitter should be, and still couldn't pick up anything. Again, save your money.

I’m trying to trace my sewer lines that are just 2 feet underground. The signal fades out when it’s about 1 foot away from the line. I guess this might be helpful if you’re looking for pipes inside walls, but it was not helpful for me underground. It will beep whenever it gets close to any location on the wire, not just at the tip. Oh, which is not ideal. Had hoped this would do better.

Would not pick up in a conduit not very good

I was eager to use this on a job to where I needed to find the pipe under concrete it allowed me to find it but it had a hard time. I do realize it was under concrete but it was only about 6 in deep and it barely gave me a signal
