I have a small family of squirrels who have been hell-bent on destroying my backyard. Despite all their destruction, I could bring myself to catch and kill them. All the other catch and release traps were not good for squirrels, despite saying so. This one worked exactly as intended. These squirrels were clever, so I was worried they would pull out the bait instead of entering the cage, but the holes are small enough to encourage entry. Releasing was enough, though I did accidentally let go of the trap door when trying to release once. Hence the subtraction of once star. I would add a way to keep the door open that doesn't involve having to do so manually. Other than that, LOVE!

Bought the trap about a month ago. Pros: Perfect size for badger, fox or smaller game like hare or rabbit. Easy to set up besides the instructions not being so clear. Cons: difficult to bate since you have to do it from the main hatch. No bate tray. The trigger plate is of very thin metal and got destroyed like tinfoil in the catch process by an angry badger. The latch on the door can get misaligned and not lock in place if triggered. Overall it preformed good but now it needs repairs and no spear pats available.

Flimsier than I have come to expect from VEVOR. The bar that connects the plate to the release is not permanently attached and shakes loose quite easily. The ring to pull the gate release will come off in your hand.

A little complicated putting it together but got there in the end, using it to catch bush turkeys, so far it hasn't but has caught possums which i let out straight away. i believe the bait plate should be more up the front otherwise i'm finding the turkey gets in and is able to eat what's on the plate without stepping on it to force the trap to work

MADER KOMMT WIEDER RAUS. MATERIAL ZU WEICH.
