Ordered this 2.4 oz weed barrier then a (I think) a 3.5 oz roll. I was ignorant of how to install barrier. First, find landscape fabric staples to secure fabric to soil. Four inch worked best in rocky ground, six inch for sandier soils. You do not cut holes. They fray in the wind. Get a cheap butane torch from tobacco shop and easily burn holes. This will prevent fraying and make a neater hole for plants to grow. If you don't secure fabric this way (rocks did not work as well) it will shrink in sun and holes will move from plant. If this happens, carefully burn a wider hole to accommodate plant. It's not difficult...just different. Soil stays moist for a longer time and no weeds in row middles. Both 2.4 and 3.5 oz have their advantages. Thin will absorb water faster and thick will pull taut and look better but water stands on 3.5 oz longer. None of these traits are deal breakers. Advantages outweigh disadvantages.

Good quality paper great price. Would recommend for anyone with large areas to cover. We used it on out gardens and flower beds.

Good and sturdy fabric but frays when cut with a knife...it should be cut with a hot blade so the edges are melted....I used a Butane torch that has a soldering tip with it....the hot soldering tip melted the edges so the fabric doesn't fray at all....I have some in my garden to keep weeds down....it is doing good and water will get thru the fabric and down to the root system of the plants.

Bought the 3' x 6' version of this weed barrier and it worked well. Vevor was out of that size when I reordered. This was closest material in that price range. This 6.5' x 300' material seems to repel water, at least repels for several minutes. I did not time how long water would pool. The first barrier would allow water to seep in a few minutes. This is not a deal breaker though. It might allow water to run in holes made for planting and to the very thing that needs water. A $6 butane torch from tobacco shop works perfectly in cutting barrier to length and carving holes for plants. I believe I will like the results.

Best deal on super solid long lasting weed barrier. Price doesn’t compare to any where else. Will have to see after time but I believe it will.

The product was exactly what we thought it would be. The quality was good and we were surprised by the cost compared to the yardage.

Put this down last fall and didn't get to cover with bark, but it looks as good as when I put it down this spring. I ordered more for the rest of the year.
