Unfortunately looks can be deceiving. Here are the Pros of this grinder. First, the price. It's cheap. On the surface the fit and finish seem to be pretty high quality. The switches are nice size and protected from the metal dust created when grinding, which is a very nice touch. The motor is quiet and powerful, it quickly comes up to speed and it had no problems maintaining speed as I hogged on a rock damaged chain with the grinder fitted with a CBN wheel sourced elsewhere, and the built in lamp works pretty well for illuminating the work. Now for the Cons, which range from inconvenient to downright annoying. The head angle scale on the face of the grinder bracket is quite small and not easy to read. The chain vise is a copy of the original Tecomec and Efco grinders, which is serviceable but not nearly as convenient as the better offered designs of today. The primitive vise centering on this vice isn't a big deal if you only run one gauge, just set it and forget it, but if you run lets say .043, .050, and .063 like I do, it's an Achille's heal That's not an outright con on a grinder at this price range, but it's not a positive either. Just be forewarned. I get around this shortcoming by having multiple grinders set up for the various gauges. An inconvenience is that the spring for the chain stop pawl is so weak that it won't expand enough to keep the nut on the adjustment bolt. This is a tiny, cheap spring, the manufacturer could do better at minimal cost. I will have to source a better alternative locally. The next thing that I find bothersome is that the spring for the head of the grinder is way too weak and it allows to the head to hang just above the chain teeth, and in fact the head dipped down as I was advancing the freshly ground tooth and damaged a previously ground tooth on the opposite side of the chain. GRRRRR.... The next con is a really big one IMO. The whole tilting/rotating base is EXTREMELY hard to get locked down at the desired angles. EXTREMELY. And it cannot be relied upon to hold it's settings. IMO this is an absolute deal breaker. I've literally had about a dozen of this style grounder over the last 40 years and this chain vise is far and away the absolute worst I have encountered. I am going to tear into it and see if I can determine the malfunction(s). Hopefully it is something that I can clean up with judicious filing or sanding, but right now, it's hard to call this grinder serviceable. Worst case scenario is that I will buy a new vise....and head spring, from one of the other grinder companies. Even if I have to do that, this grinder is probably still worth $99.

Directions are very hard to follow and I haven't been able to use this as it's intended. I will have to see if I can figure it out or ask a friend.

This product has a nice feel and plenty of power. Takes a minute to get it setup right, but it gives a fast, consistent result. My chains cut so much better than they usually do after sharpening. There are some components that seem a little lightweight. They seem to function though. My main concern was the slight oscillation of the stone. I think the arbor shaft is bent or the stone holder is not straight. In fairness Vevor offered to explore the issue if I sent videos, but I just haven't had time.

I purchased this July 31, 2026. It was delivered Aug. 4. Aug. 5, I opened the box, removed the sharpener. Some assembling was required. To install the sharpening wheel a rod is required to hold the motor shaft by placing the rod in a hole. There’s an access hole in the wheel shied to allow access to the hole in the shaft. The access hole didn’t align with the shaft. Secondly, the stud in the handle, was improperly molded into the handle, but it did screw into the sharpener. I took pictures of the issues and contacted customer service. I needed to sharpen some chains, so I drilled a hole in the shied so I install the sharpening wheel. Two weeks went by. During the 2 week I would send a note and receive acknowledgment. Finally I received a “offer” a replacement ot a 50%refund. Since I had used it I settled for the 50%. Two stars because Customer Service sucks!

Unit came with one ball-bearing missing on the bottom plate making it impossible to properly adjust. The only way to converse with Vevor is through a bot. After a month with no resolution. The product is likely fine but wouldn't recommend the company as they do not seem prepared to resolve issues.

Bought a electric chainsaw sharpener waited for a month never did receive it and it was supposed to be a 2 day delivery I had received a email stating it was shipped so I emailed them they never gave me the option to keep my order they just refunded me

For that price not bad machine

The return spring is to light for the motor and top assembly. You have to manually lift the handle up to clear the chain your grinding. I had to mount a cable and spring to return the cutting wheel to its up right position. Serious engineering and design flaw.

I found out you have to do real quick small cuts or you end up heat hardening the teeth, which makes touching up in the woods with a hand file impossible. But if you take many chains along when cutting wood, and change them out when they get dull, this machine will work, Then sharpen all the chains back in your shop. Mine is for sale now with many more on eBay or marketplace.
