Wie es sich für einen Schraubstock der 6\"- Klasse gehört, kann man ihn mit einer Hand nicht mehr tragen. Die Backenbreite beträgt 160mm und die beiden Backen haben auch einen maximalen Abstand von 160mm. Die Spindel ist zwar recht einfach ausgeführt, die Mutter aber sehr lang, ich denke das passt. Die Genauigkeit ist absolut ok, ich habe die Parallelität mit 0.005mm und die Rechtwinkligkeit der Backen mit 0.003 gemessen, wobei da allerdings auch die Messgenauigkeit meines Equipments erreicht ist. Unter Spannung macht die bewegliche Backe zwar etwas auf, aber das ist zu wenig um bemängelt werden zu können. Wenn man Material auf Parallelleisten spannt, kann man mit nur 1-2 Schlägen die Leisten zum Blockieren bringen, auch das spricht für den Schraubstock. Der Guss ist ok, die Verarbeitung auch, lediglich die Auflage der beweglichen Backe wurde bei meinem Schraubstock nur recht grob geschliffen, im Gegensatz zu allen anderen Flächen. Ich habe noch nicht viel damit gefräst, aber der erste Eindruck ist sehr positiv. Ich habe ihn nicht hier sondern in der Bucht gekauft, der Preis war um die Hälfte geringer als der hier gefragte. Ob die hier angebotenen dafür doppelt so gut sind? ;-)

Turned out it’s too big for my mini mill with the rotary base. Should have gotten the 3”. Overall quality is very good.

I did a lot of research and looking around before I settled on this particular vise. I tend to put a lot of credit into the reviews that others write about their experience with products that I am interested in. I start with the star ratings and the number of reviews a product has received before moving on to the written reviews. True... this vise didn't have as many reviews as I typically like to see but I checked it out none the less. When I first opened the package the first thing that I noticed and thought was kind of odd was the fact that they only put packing material on the top side and and did nothing to protect the all so important bottom of the vise. There was no apparent damage but certainly something they should consider going forward. I will give it a closer inspection to ensure there is no damage and for flatness before i secure it to my mill. Like others have said, this thing is a lot bigger than I expected, but since I have a full size mill that won't be a problem. If you have one of the bench top mills the size and weight of this vise could be an issue for you. The next thing I noticed is what I thought was perhaps a milled test block that had been accidentally left in the jaws. After I attached the handle and started cranking the jaws open to remove the block I realized that the block was the jaw when I saw the seam start to open. I clamped the jaws closed again and the seam vanished. The jaw faces are perfectly (as far as the human eye can see) machined. I have not yet attached it to my mill for a test run but I have no doubt that it will provide my desired outcome. Unless something unexpected and catastrophic happens when I put it in operation, and I seriously doubt that will happen, I would absolutely recommend this product. I am certain that one can find a much more precise vise, but for the home shop and at this price I think this is a very good buy.

The vise is very impressive in all aspects. My only concern was the packaging. It appeared that the box was dropped during transport and subsequently the foam packaging was broken in some cases but the vise was not damaged. As a result of the damage, the manual was scuffed and torn beyond repair. I was unsuccessful in obtaining a replacement copy via your online service and unfortunately did not find a download version in the internet.

Unit appears to be well made and measures square across vise jaws. Is very heavy and works well on my bench top milling machine. Vice screw does bind a little and requires using a wrench to adjust. Definitely an offshore product but cost hundreds less than name brands and will work for my hobby machining. Might be a little big to use on a smaller drill press.

It's bigger and heavier than I thought. Have tested it a little, but not put it to work yet:)
