The vertical and horizontal rotary table, one of the main accessories of the milling machine, is a precision positioning device for the work. This machine is widely used in metalworking and allows the operator to drill or cut at precise intervals around a fixed axis.

Vertical and horizontal design
It can be mounted "flat," with the table rotating around a vertical axis in the same plane as the cutter of a vertical milling machine. Alternatively, the cutting disc can be mounted at its end (or "flat" on a 90° angle plate), so that it rotates around a horizontal axis. In this configuration, a tailstock can also be used, which holds the workpiece "between centers."
