I bought this pump several months ago and I finally have this project done. It is fantastic! I wanted to irrigate our yard as our grass died because it's so costly to use city water. There were so many uncertain things in my plan but everything is better than I planned. I am using this in a small lake. It pushed the water uphill about 400 feet to a pressure tank and then tied into my sprinkler zones. The pressure is better than the city water. The pressure tank cuts off at 65-70 psi. Down by the lake I measures 100 psi so this thing has some power. The price was great and it included the control box. Very happy with this purchase and the other Vevor items I have. Thanks!

maintenance man
Easy to set up and works like a champ. Now running long enough to say this pump is very strong, very quiet, and works as well as the one I replaced at 1/3 the cost.

Great Little Pump!
Price could be a little better, but we use it to pump river water uphill. Pumps about 500 feet horizontally, with a head (lift) of around 80 feet. Pressure tank holds it steady at around 80 psi when not in use. When in use, setup triggers pump on at around 65 psi, and off at about 80. When using it to run irrigation (about 15 sprinkler heads, around 60 gpm), the pump moves so much water, it will actually cycle the system, instead of constantly running, which is pretty sweet when you consider its max flow is 37 gpm. Read description carefully, as it is a 220v pump, meaning you'll need 2 legs of your single-phase system. At full load, it pulls just under 10 amps (5 amps per leg), meaning you could get away using 14 awg copper (stranded if running through conduit with lots of turns, solid or stranded if using UF wire), but because we were running such a long distance, we opted for 12 awg.
Read on if you want to do the install yourself
To do it yourself (if you feel electrically inclined), you'll need at least 3 runs of wire, 4 if you want a neutral in the box (not required for this). I usually add a neutral, just in case I ever want to convert it in the future to an outlet or something (using either only 1 of the legs, or using both on separate legs, with common neutral and double pole breaker on the other end). Choose two of the following colors to use as your hot legs: red, blue, black (if adding addt'l runs, use yellow, orange, purple).
Next, if running a neutral, you'll need a white wire (for simplicity, we'll skip the banding option), then you'll certainly need a ground, which must be green. Assemble your conduit (you can get away with 1/2 inch (sch. 40), but if it's a long run, I recommend 3/4 inch (sch. 40) (not for underground use, if going underground, use sch. 80 and 3/4 inch pipe). If using UF wire, simply bury it in the trench following depth guidelines. Before filling in all the way, add a line/run of metallic "buried electric line" tape about 8 to 12 inches below the ground. Use wire lubricant when pulling, it makes a difference (trust me).
Use a vacuum or similar to "suck" jetline through the pipe (use a grocery bag or similar on the other end). Next, attach mule tape to the jetline and pull that through, or if you're confident you can get it through, using mule tape attached to the bag. You'll attach your wires all bundled and taped to the mule tape, then using lube, you'll pull the wires through the conduit using the mule tape.
