I purchase this to replace a 15 year old Clay Chiminea that finally cracked when it was accidentally bumped too hard. The clay one also only had a 120 degree zone of feeling heat at the mouth but because of its construction, it had a great draw and burned the wood super hot and completely. I was hoping this 360 degree open designed one would give off heat in all directions yet still pull most of the smoke up and away through the flue... I must admit the flue looked too short for adequate draw but I purchased it anyway. Well guess what... Its not tall enough. Smoke is poorly drawn up and mostly comes out 360 degrees around the opening. I will be looking for a way to add about 4' to this flue and see what improvement that makes. Just like i had the feeling that this short flue would not work and provide insufficient draw to create that slight negative pressure... i have the same feeling that adding 4' should make things much better and useful.
