Haven’t had time to try it yet but rebound seems ok. The “pritchel hole is a joke. Badly located & WAY TOO BIG! Whoever designed it has no idea what a pritchel hole is used for, they deliberately misled beginners in the field of blacksmithing.
I suspect that the hole has something to do with the manufacturing process but it’s useless as a tool holder
However, I can drill my own hole at the back, where it should be, if I can get a hard enough bit.
The price of the anvil & it’s other good properties makes it a good buy! But don’t try to bafflegab people with nonsense.
It would be a simple fix just to drill another hole at the back
of the correct size

Just finish up the edges and put it on a secure pedistal, in the right hight. Bought a stone cracker and forged it to fit the hardy hole. Should have gotten a bigger anvil but I'll place a concrete block on the bottom and secure it with bolts soon to keep it from bouncing around.

This 22# anvil was mailed without any padding in a cardboard box (see photos) that fell apart in transit, and the anvil was scratched in many places. The rust has started taking over where the paint was scratched off.

Pleasantly surprised. I am not a Blacksmith, I just needed an anvil to help me shape metal. Rebound rate is good, price is extremely fair. All I needed to do was to take a file and ease all the edges.
