I had a lot of hope for this lock since it had all the features I wanted. Unfortunately there is a design flaw that ultimately led me to return the product. The hole (on the back) where you turn the lock handle direction is small and if you use a common screwdriver bit it damages the ridges used by the flat bar. I cannot find such narrow bit that would work. This seems like a specialized tool that vevor should provide, or redesign the hole. More troubling though is the endless back and forth with the support team who promised me that 'engineering' would research and get back to me. Twice I had to contact support to find out a status. 'Engineering' never provided any response. Support didn't want to provide me a refund. Eventually I just sent the product back and asked my bank to refund me on my credit card. Cost me $20 to send it back since it was a bit heavy. Vevor did not reimburse. Sorry, this is way too much trouble for me to with this merchant in the future.

Installation is not easy because of the flat bar for actuating the lock. The instructions are sorely lacking in this regard. One end of the bar has two "dimples" which must go into the combination side of the lock. There are 2 different lengths provide. I found that neither one worked for a 3.5" install and the longer one had to be cut. I cut it too short and did not have a working one because I inserted it the wrong way around. I ordered a replacement unit rather than try to get the part from tech support. Good thing I did too because the original one would not stay open fully, but "rebounded" about .5 inch not allowing the gate to close fully. However once I replaced the combo side3 of the lock with the new unit, it worked. I also rebuild my gate with 2x6s laid with the 1.5" side to mount the lock so that was room for the mechanism without having to add a block.

Purchased these a little over 12 months ago, coatings coming off, one handle has fallen off rendering them unusable, these i installed on front exterior gate as security, unfortunate as would do the job if bit more robust and lasted longer for the price

Lo primero que notamos es que debajo de la leyenda de la marca "VEVOR" hay otra de muy mal gusto que resalta que es una herramienta barata, indeseable para vista exterior. Segundo, y más imprortante, los tornillos que vienen en el paquete son de muy mala calidad, la cabeza esta mal remachada y a la hora de introducir y atornillar en el huso (con un destronillador manual y sin usar mucha fuerza), se degollaron y el tornillo quedó atorado en el huso. No se pudo instalar y fue una muy mala compra que tuve que tirar a la basura.

This lock broke within a few months. The challenge then became how to remove it. This can only be done from the inside. I had the lock on a door that is at a height with no other access. I had to climb across a very narrow ledge to break into a window. Not a great design, and quite cheaply made.

The lock is SILVER color. The plate supplied on which it is mounted on the door is BLACK. When installed it looks very ugly. The buyer at VEVOR should be cognizant of this and make sure the manufacturer supplies a matching color plate. I took photos and wanted to upload these but that does not seem to work also. OVERALL - a not very happy experience

Not recommended , I purchased 2 of these gate locks 1 of which the numbers have no resistance already making it so the gate is permanently locked

This door lock has problem with solid studs. The screws provided are not suit for 35mm thickness door. I try to fix this problem with this company , but it takes really time and doesn't work.

Overall, this is a very nice lock time. Will tell if it stands up to repetitive use. I’m giving it a one star because mine is pretty damaged during shipping and looks bad. The install was fairly simple and the instructions were decently written and easy to follow.

This lock may NOT be easy to install. If the depth you are installing the lock across is towards the wider end ( 2.5 inches / 65 mm ) then it will be nearly impossible. The two facings will need to be fully in-place or the spindle will fall out, which means you'll be trying to line up a screw to the back of a standoff that you cannot see. Good luck with that. Also the spindle droops, which makes the whole thing even more challenging. Since the mechanism of the lock proper is machined to receive two 5mm/8 screws, the better solution would be to just buy two long machine screws that fit the width of your mount, so you can actually SEE them stick out the other side and screw them on. BUT know that the rear face depressions only accommodate 4mm screw heads, so a typical 5mm Cap screw wont' fit and will BLOCK the lever on the inside. Just so awesome. Really. So, just be careful. I found a 5mm/8 cap screw whose head was a bit short, just enough so the rear lever could still clear the screw head. Made the installation MUCH easier. I also replaced the spindle with a longer one, which was great because it could be seated deep into the rear lever and thus stuck out straight instead of drooping. Actually, I lied. I first used the 95mm spindle that was included, but it fell into the fence pole. And when I asked for a replacement the service here said "nope". So I had to go source that myself. Thanks! And, as unpleasant as this was, it turns out there aren't a lot of other combination gate locks on the market and my wife likes this one and wants the next one to match. So, I'm buying a second one. Like a chump.
