Very pleased with my purchase.Small gripe is that the instructions say "insert piece to red line" but are printed in black and white. Also buy some refractory cement to line the sides and top. The top insulation has a habit of slipping out otherwise.

If this is modified into a postbox forge, I cannot recommend it highly enough. The 12 kg furnace (probably the 6kg as well, though I have not used it) has serious potential and a few serious drawbacks. The stainless shell is good, it could have been better but for the price point it is quite good. All of the materials used are pretty standard and so of expected quality. The Kaowool/Inswool is exactly what Id expect as are the firebricks. The burners work as expected. Basically, for the price this is a good purchase. But it does have some very serious, but fixable flaws. The Inswool fabric was unsealed. This is actively dangerous to your lungs, it should be sealed behand some kind of refractory. I used Satanite, it worked perfectly. Ridgidizer is a temporary fix, use a refractory. It comes with a pair of tongs that are actually very dangerous to use. If you use them to pull the crucible out of the furnace, you will put point stress on the crucible and potentially break it while it is full of molten metal. Proper lifting tongs and a second pair of proper pouring tongs would be a very wise investment. When running the two burners, the fuel draw is faster than a small 20lb propane bottle can supply continuously. The single bottle begins freezing, the flames begin pulsing and the flame head can travel into the feed pipes, putting the flame head right at the brass tip of the torch. You will need to chain two bottles or get a larger bottle either should fix this by increasing the gas flow. The burners do not have an air choke, forcing you to have the gas pressure high to keep the flame head inside the furnace. A simple piece of pipe slid over the air intakes would allow you to throttle the flame better. Finally, I turned mine into a postbox forge by cutting some holes in the sides, a little down from the lid and bending the metal skin down as a shelf. I doubled the Inswool and lined it with Satanite. I shaped the Satanite around the burners to integrate the flare into the refractory, so I didn't have to modify the depth of the burners. It works fantastically.

El fundidor funciona perfectamente, no tarda mucho en alcanzar la temperatura ideal para fundir aleaciones de cobre (cerca de 30 minutos, y luego puedes añadir más remesas cada 10 minutos aproximadamente). Para las botellas de propano de España necesitarás un regulador que entre en las botellas de aquí y adaptador para conectarlo al que viene en el paquete, no es caro y se puede conseguir por Amazon. El crisol que viene es bueno, quizá muy grande para empezar si no tienes experiencia, te recomiendo guárdalo y compra uno similar de 2 kilos si es tu primera vez. La pinza que viene no es la ideal, esta bastante dura de abrir y cerrar, y su forma no te permitirá verter el contenido correctamente, tendrás que acabar comprando una o dos más, tanto para sacar el crisol como para verter con precisión. A pesar de todo le doy bastante buena nota, como dije el fundidor esta muy bien y el pack esa adecuado para empezar.

L'équipement est bien conçu, cela pourrait être plus massif mais donc plus lourd, l'inox fait le travail escompté. La laine de céramique fournie résiste à la chaleur mais ne la conserve pas. Pour optimiser l'inertie de la chaleur au sein du creuset, car il est nécessaire pour monter à haute température, il serait préférable de fournir l'enduit réfractaire, celui que j'ai posé ici résiste à une température de 1600°C, il n'est pas facile à se procurer et assez coûteux, il m'aura fallu 3 kg. Il est également nécessaire de fabriquer ou bien de se procurer du matériel solide et fiable, tel que les pinces, car utiliser la fonderie en versant du métal en fusion sans celà pourrait rapidement s'avérer dangereux. Très bien à part mon creuse en grafit et un peux abîmé apre a voir avec le temp si il se casse pas .

The handle will fail. It may be fast, maybe slow. But it's inevitable. Everything works great on this unit, including the propane control, along with the manual air shutter that is sturdy. Solid , Stainless Steel construction. Another downer, the refractory needs to be addressed. Two ways: 1. Refractory cement. 2. There is a pink spray out there that would save time, money, and weight! And it is easy to reapply! Refractory cement is awesome, but requires rebuilding g occasionally. See photos of a custom handle idea.

Le four est dune manière générale bien fourni. Pensez a faire le revêtement réfractaire sur les parois, attention les outils fournis avec ne conviennent pas pour la fonderie. Sinon, ca marche bien, pour la France, il faudra une bouteille sans limiteur de pression, le détendeur fourni est noté 30psi mais je ne suis pas arrivé a monter a plus de 20 - 25 psi Essayé avec de l alu bien content !

The tongs that come with these furnaces are no good. Buy better was immediately. Would buy again if i burn this one uo.

it is decent quality, but the crucible broke the first time i tried to pick it up and the tongs are kind of shitty but overall, it does everything it says it will not melt steel, but it will eat up aluminum brass and copper

Works very well dose leak propane around ports so when you put it together put high temp sealer on it other than that is awesome to have in the shop
