This is the second of these that I purchased. I'm using them to tumble rocks in stage 1 even though this is designed for light weight cleaning tasks... coins, jewelry, etc... Still, it makes for a very inexpensive rock tumbler compared to machines built to tumble 12lbs of rocks. This has a decent DC powered motor, but the conversion circuitry (from AC / mains power to DC power for the motor), seems to be grossly inefficient..... which is where my title comes into play..... With a total barrel weight of 9.8lbs (empty barrel + rocks + water + grit) this pulls a LOT of power from the AC outlet, using about 4x the electricity of my 3lb tumbler overloaded to 4lbs. It cost me about $1.50 per day to run it from AC plug in. Upon noticing that it has a DC motor, I converted my first one to run directly off 12V battery - NOT RECOMMENDED unless you have professional training in AC and DC electrical systems. As soon as this one arrived, I also converted it to run on 12V battery with a voltage rheostat to control the RPM's. My battery will run one tumbler for about 228 hours, nearly 10 days, and then costs about $2 to recharge the battery to run another 9 days. Running both tumblers at the same time dropped me down to about 98 hours runtime. Unfortunately, I didn't think to plug this one in & test it out before converting it. It has a bad motor, which was only evident after turning on the auto-reverse feature after I had already converted it to run directly off battery. It runs fine forward, but when it reverses, it doesn't run well at all, to the point of coming to a complete stop two days after the conversion, then won't run forward or reverse... The motor is getting slightly warmer than the first unit I bought, at about 115F, the original one only gets to about 100F right next to it. So it's not due to overheating.... Seems like just a bad motor. I primarily got the second one for the new barrel anyway. After 12 months of almost continuous tumbling, the original barrel is starting to wear out. It still has quite a bit of life left in it, I would guess that it has at least a another 12 months of tumbling before it wears enough to be trashed. All-in-all, I would recommend this tumbler, just make sure you check it out pretty well as soon as possible.

La maquina funciona correctamente peor las bolitas que vienen con ella se me oxidaron ya en el prime uso. Son de muy mala calidad. Al final hay que comprar otras

Funciona correctamente, lo uso para limpiar vainas de rifle, si vais a limpiar muchas vainas de arma larga recomiendo que cojáis el de 5kg.

Bonne qualité de l'ensemble, lourde et bien stable, le cylindre est en plexi épais,le verrouillage solide et facile, réglage des vitesses et sens de rotation fixe ou alternatif Av/Ar pratique, la 1ére vitesse est suffisante, au delà ça deviens très bruyant, mais ça fonctionne aussi. Je l'utilise pour le nettoyage des douilles avec billes de 1 et 2 mm + produit vaisselle + quelques gouttes d'acide citrique, le résultat est parfait . Bien rincer après usage. A voir dans temps, mais agréablement surpris... pour ce prix !

It works as it should. I had some issues with the motor at the beginning As it just suddenly stopped. I think an internal safety switch must have tripped as it suddenly started working again the next day. Only down side is the clear plastic is pointless as it soon scratches up and you can't see anything

Great machine so far. No problems and i am enjoying using it. If the beads were better quality i would of given it 5 stars.

Very noisy. 1st speed is still too fast. Tends to run off the drive wheels. Must use water to keep a balance. Still runs off the drive wheels. Steel balls are a pain to remove from the drum without a magnet.
