I bought this for my classroom. It works as good as my personal OTC leak-down tester. If my OTC ever breaks, I'll buy a Vevor. It's worth noting that use the leak down test feature, you have to remove the schrader valve from the hose.

Total looks to be okay. Quality, will not work with my engine the hose adapter is too small, and the other sizes are all metric. I have an American made big block. Chevy, you cannot get response for refund.

This is about the XC2201 leakdown tester that I ordered. The dual gauge, the 100 psi range, the pressure regulator and the overall construction confirm that what I received is indeed a leakdown, not a compression tester. But the first thing I noticed was that the instruction brochure, albeit titled "Leakdown Tester" and showing all the correct components, tells how to measure compression, not a word about leakdown testing. Tried my luck on the Vevor website but all found there was exactly the same brochure. Then, I noticed that the connection tube (which goes into the spark plug hole) has a Schrader valve at its tip. This valve is for compression testing and blocks the air flow into the cylinder, making it unusable for leakdown testing. Obviously, the wrong assembly was included, but removing that valve is easy, and I did so. Next came the challenge of threading this hose into the spark plug hole. It barely allowed me to make one turn and then got stuck. On a close inspection, its thread, albeit the correct 14mm diameter and correct pitch, is very rough and if forced, would destroy the thread in the aluminum engine head. Lacking a 14mmx1.25 die to clean it up, I just put this tube aside and used one that I happened to have lying around. Finally, I was able to conduct the leakdown measurement and get a reading. But considering the sloppy manufacturing and lack of quality control, can the results be trusted? I must note that I own several tools purchased from Vevor and all of them served me well, so this one is an exception. On the positive side, there is plenty of spare o-rings, air connection adapters and 10mm, 12mm, and 18mm plug thread adapters. The blow molded case is nice and holds everything properly.

I haven’t used the leak down tester yet but appears to be of reasonable quality.

Wrong description does not do leak down tests. Triple check before buying. Now fighting to return.
