Fantastic mats. They look great, feel great, and they seem to hold up well so far.

I use the mat on a bed frame, not the floor
Binsen 203,2 x 99 x 1,27 cm
I got this single rush grass tatami mat as part of my experiment in how to sleep cooler. I dumped a queen size memory foam mattress, box springs, and metal bed frame. I bought separate pieces that I could play around with to see what worked for me. I started with a new queen size metal bed frame with a grid top, 2 separate coconut coir mattress pads that side-by-side fit a queen bed frame, a single shikifuton, and a foam mattress pad. From experimenting with different arrangements of these items I found what worked for me. I slept cooler and didn't wake up at night anymore because I was overheated. After two months, I decided to replace the single bed size items with items for a queen size bed. I made a couple of other changes as well. You can read more details about what I did in my review of the VEVOR queen size rush grass tatami mat, which got a four-star review.

good value
Binsen 210,8 x 139,7 x 1,27 cm
About hair an inch thick, grass on top, cotton in the middle and polyester on the bottom. Bottom is NOT non-slip. Smells like grass, so you'll have to get used to it. Seems sturdy enough for the price. Not a bad deal. I recommend.

Not overheating at night now
Binsen 203,2 x 139,7 x 1,27 cm
I've had this tatami mat about 6 weeks. It is on my new metal platform queen bed frame that has 15" underbed clearance. The bed frame has a grid style top instead of slats. The tatami mat gets 4 stars instead of 5 because a queen bed is 60" wide and this mat is 55" wide. In late spring this year, I dumped my memory foam bed because I was repeatedly waking up at night due to overheating. I didn't want to go through another summer too hot to sleep. I decided to look for alternatives to a western style mattress. I got a single VEVOR rush grass tatami mat and added a single 3 1/2" VEVOR shikifuton (also called a tatami mat on the website) to my new metal platform bed. There was not enough padding for comfort. From reading articles online, I discovered that I would need to air out my futon and tatami mat weekly to prevent moisture build-up that would lead to mold. I searched online for alternative ways to prevent moisture build up. I found several options. I chose to put a single 1" thick coconut coir mat on top of my tatami mat. I put a 3" memory foam pad on top of the coconut coir mat for comfort. I put another 1" coconut coir mat on top of the memory foam pad and my shikifuton on top of that. I slept on that for about two months. This experimental arrangement allowed me to sleep much better than I did on the old memory foam mattress so... After two months, I bought the VEVOR queen-size tatami mat. I ordered a queen size 2" thick, covered, tri-fold coconut coir pad I found online to put on top of it. I placed the two 1" thick coconut coir mats side by side on top of the tri-fold mat, and put the single shikifuton on top of that. I ordered a queen size 1" thick hemp mattress pad to put on top of the shikifuton. (To prevent the separate pieces from sliding around, I use 1/8 " thick open weave pattern rug gripper mats between each layer.) I sleep well now even though my bedding is much firmer than my former memory foam mattress. And yes, my body heat does heat up my bedding but not to the point where I wake up at night overheated. I haven't bought a queen shikifuton yet because I am trying to decide whether I want a shikifuton without foam. They are supposed to be better for temperature regulation, but are also considerably more expensive. NOTE ON THE SMELL of rush grass tatami mats: I did notice a strong grassy odor when I unwrapped the mats from their plastic packaging. I put the mats in a separate room and opened them up into a Z position resting on one side for about 4 days before sleeping on them. If there was any odor after that it was faint enough that it didn't bother me. The single rush grass tatami mat I originally bought is now on a metal slatted bed frame. It is covered by a 2" inch memory foam mattress pad that has two cushy, comfy non-foam mattress pads on top of that. My dogs take turns sleeping there. If there was any grass smell, I'm sure they would pee on it. (NOTE: The single tatami mat needs a twin XL bed.)

VEVOR Japanese Tatami Mat
Binsen 210,8 x 99 x 1,27 cm
Great mat! Thickness and size is perfect. Great for sleeping. It has unique smell of rush grass but it fades away after few days. Mat takes little space after folding and is easy to store. Price very good and delivery very fast.

Tatami jonc
