With a hydraulic steering system you have to expect that the steering wheel can move slightly left and right compared to the engine, even if the wheel itself is locked. This is normal, because the hydraulic system is not a mechanical lock: the oil can compress a little, the hoses flex, and the valves allow microscopic internal leakage. Because of this, the engine can slowly turn during transport. With a cable steering system this does not happen, because the cable and the mechanical linkage hold the engine completely fixed, so it stays straight even while towing. What makes it more confusing is that nobody mentions this anywhere – neither the sellers nor the buyers talk about it – even though it is an important characteristic of hydraulic steering. Anyone installing a hydraulic system should be aware of this, and if they want the engine to stay perfectly straight during transport, they will need an additional mechanical engine lock. The bleed screws on hydraulic steering systems are made of weak plastic, and if you turn the wheel all the way to the stop, the caps can crack. I had to replace mine with metal ones because one of the plastic caps split at the top. The steering is indeed lighter compared to a cable system. I also bought a steering lock that fixes the engine during transport, because without it you simply can’t tow the boat safely. I’m still waiting for the package, so I don’t have any real‑world experience with it yet.

All was good but helm has a leak and i cannot locate it.seems like a crack in casting

Couldn't even get it bled due to cylinder leaking and possible helm pump leaking bleeder valves wanted to leak tldr everything leaked

The pump works effortlessly. The fitting on the other hand was terrible. I had to add flat metal tabs to get it to fit to a 2025 Yamaha f60. I messaged the supplier and they couldn't offer a solution. Very disappointed with the outcome. The problem could easily be rectified by making the steering tube rods with duel mounting holes on each end. Simple. Don't know why this problem hasn't been fixed. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Lasted one year already leaking from the steering cylinder and losing pressure. Aside from that no problems

Tycker den är lite klen för 150hk. Skulle tagit den större. Var problem med den första pumpen men fick en helt ny satts i ersättning och nu funkar det bra.

Bonjour, J'ai commandé ce produit et l'ai reçu rapidement. Par contre, ce produit est stipulé comme pouvant être utilisé avec un moteur jusqu'à 90 cv hors le mien est est 80 cv (BF 80 Honda) et la puissance de ce système hydraulique est très limite. Je ressent comme des crans lorsque je tourne la barre en navigation à vitesse normale. Lors des manœuvres de port cela peut aller mais le reste du temps c'est compliqué et cette direction est relativement dur. J'ai fait confiance au descriptif et si j'avais été mieux informé, je pense que j'aurai opter pour le modèle au-dessus. Je sui donc déçu et ne conseil pas ce produit vu c'est capacités. Got it and was excited. Installed with no issues. The directions suck, so YouTube I went to make sure I did everything correctly. Hooked it up the day it was delivered. Immediately one of the seals on the hydraulic ram was leaking as I was filling it with hydraulic steering fluid. Contacted vevor and they sent me new seals for free. Took 2 weeks to get here. Still used the boat while I waited and it worked great minus the small leak. After the second trip, I noticed hydraulic fluid under my steering wheel. Look under the helm, and yet another seal Is leaking. It’s been 4 weeks since I installed it, so we will see if they send me a seal for that for free or if I have to fork out money. I was hoping to get a good deal and save $$ and not buy name brand, but now with all the effort and headache I am wishing I did.
