With all the talk of danger, I ended up finding this spring compressor less scary than I expected. In my opinion, for a careful person not in a hurry, this can be used quite safely. Shopping for a spring compressor, there seemed to be either the $1500 shop version by Branick, or about 3 different options for a DIY version, each marketed under a dozen brands with minimal cosmetic differences. I got this one because I liked the extra curved cross-brace thinking it might limit the ways in which the spring could fly out of the compressor. I successfully swapped out two Honda OEM struts for KYB, keeping the OEM springs and mounts (cleaned and lubricated). My learnings: 1️⃣ Read the instructions. 2️⃣ Lubricate the threads. 3️⃣ Span as much of the spring as you can. With the compressor across only 4 coils of the spring I was unable to loosen it from the strut. 5 worked. 4️⃣ If possible, position the compressor across the spring such that the cross brace is outside the coil diameter. Otherwise trying to keep it away from the coils adds difficulty. 5️⃣ Tighten and loosen the compressor by hand.

After reviewing other vendors' options for a coil spring compression tool, I decided to try this one, as it seemed better constructed. And I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality. The clamp features are cast and finished pretty well. The curved strap allows the two compressing tools to be attached to prevent slippage. The hex screw for compression is a beefy 19mm and heat treated. I had no issues using these and never felt frightened or concerned that the tool would break during use. I'm giving these a 5-star rating as they far exceeded my expectations. Especially at less than 50 bucks.

Envoie rapide

IF, again IF, you take your time and use this tool correctly, it is awesome. First, take the 3/4\" head bolt out, grease it up real good, and screw it back in. Using it, unscrew / screw EVENLY on both sides/pieces (10-15 ratchets on each side)....DO NOT use an impact gun. Don't be lazy, use a socket wrench. Also, use the safety piece included.....why not. It's there, use it...why risk getting hurt. Replaced crappy Ranchos with Bilsteins. No problems.

Great product that worked really well. I was looking around for something for a while and found this one to suit me best.

livraison rapide , materiel facile à utiliser même pour un débutant , matériel sécurisant pas très cher

I purchased this spring compressor just to do a DIY swap on some suspension components and reai, I was surprised at how good the quality was for the money. You would pay double for an inferior compressor from a parts store yet this one has a beautiful, smooth action and has good safety features built in. It made the whole job dead easy. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.

Commandé pour offrir donc content de cet achat utile, pour la photo je ne peux pas mais tout à fait conforme à l'annonce.
