I had a P455 large vapor leak. Instead of inspecting the many vapor lines around the vehicle, I used this tester. Included is a mini air bag which I put in the fuel neck. After about 2 minutes smoke came out of the canister vapor solenoid and nowhere else. This meant there were no leaks in the system and the solenoid was bad. Replaced it and no more issues. Used Harbor Freight's smoke oil which works great in the Vevor machine; starts smoking in about 30 seconds.

Arayat Quickly delivers good amount of thick smoke
This thing worked like advertised. It comes with a lot of adapters and shortly after switching it on (or connecting it to the battery rather because there is no on-switch) it makes a lot of smoke at decent pressure.
I used to to find a vacuum leak on a carburetor engine and then I tested my exhaust system (no leak found fortunately). The universal adapter fitted onto the air intake and also the exhaust pipe.
I used cheap baby oil to create the smoke.

Countryboy use butcher block oil that stinks the least
The smoke machine does the job. It's a good value for the price. All smoke machines make stinky smoke that stinks from burnt oil. Now when you use butcher block oil that makes the least stench in the smoke. Baby oil comes second. And the most stinky is oil specifically for smoke machines.

I purchased the Vevor Smoke Leak Detector to track down a vacuum leak in a Classic Range Rover inlet manifold. The unit is very simple to use, lightweight and portable. I was shocked by the number of leaks the car had. All easily fixed. This has changed my approach to diagnosing cars. Anything that comes in running rough, surging, etc, makes the smoke leak detector one of the first tools to grab.
