The first thing I did was to disassemble it to see the insides. It's super-well built. The engine is connected directly to a planetary gearbox which turns the spiral shaft. The planetary gears are made out of a heavy-duty plastic. The internal gear and sun gear is stainless steel. The main disadvantage of this model is you can't clean the inside easily without first removing 3 screws - and you need a special screwdriver for that. The meat grinder blade was almost perfect. I did have to sharpen it a little before the first use just to make sure it's a microscopically perfect fit. I recommend a 400 grit grinding stone for this.

It is a very well finished stainless steel grinder that makes cleaning the machine very easy. A very nice design and a very powerful engine. I highly recommend it. It's super high quality.
