Very please over all with this anvil for a starter anvil. The hardy hole is bigger than 1” but with a little work a “made to fit” hardy tool can easily be made. The pritchell hole is only 1/2” but will work. Looking forward to many years of use out of this little 110lb anvil

So far, very pleased with quality and price.

The anvil arrived quickly and was packaged well. I think this is a great anvil for a casual user that is not a black smith, which I am not. I am a metal worker and I wanted something for straightening things (repair), surface to hammer things together and occasional forging beside the small area on a vise. The 110 lb anvil has good rebound, the horn does not appear to be as hard but still perfectly adequate for my needs. The only 2 cons I can see is the the non standard size of the hardy hole at 1.25". I purchased 1.25 bar stock to make hardy tools. The second thing is the the hardy hole is under sized a bit and will not fit the bar. The good is it is under sized and not over. Using an Air belt sander with 36 grit and marking dye, I was able to make the hole to snuggly fit 1.25" bar. in a couple of hours. Make bar long enough to be able to tap it out from the bottom of the hole. In the process of making hardy hole tools. Very happy with my purchase.

Seems to be a very good product so far. Could be packaged more securely for shipping. Box was torn up pretty bad, but hey, how easily can you damage an anvil. Well satisfied with the anvil's performance.

A great product at a good price sits nicely on the work bench and is a handy well made tool .

I have to admit i was sceptic about using an 11,5kg (approx. 25,35 pounds) anvil for forging anything. But to my surprise, it does actually work for forging! i have mainly used it to build knifes. the hollow square allows for punctures and the ocassional twist of a small damascus bar. And lately i have been working jewelry pieces, and this anvil is right at home on that field! The round horn is very versatile as well. Also, i have to mention that, despite leaving the anvil on the outside for a few months because of a mistake, and having rained non-stop, it obviously got some rust, but with just a metallica brush and some oil it was back as new! All in all, a very very good buy. Only sad part is, now I wish i could get my hands on the 60kg (132 pounds) anvil to use for the forge, and use this little fella for jewelry!

I have been looking for an Anvil for several years, hoping to find an old one that someone no longer needed, but all I saw were in horrible condition, worn, rounded off, parts broken off and way overpriced for what you were getting. I bought this 110 lb Anvil, as it was the size and shape that I had in mind and the price was more than fair. When it arrived I was very pleased. The surfaces were what I hoped for, flat, sharp and clean edges. I immediately picked up my hammer and began to straighten out a badly bent steel rod from my front end loader level indicator. The large flat surface was exactly what I needed to perform this task and now the unit is ready to install. I highly recommend this anvil for those looking for your first large anvil for your shop.
