A friend of mine, whom I got into beekeeping, recently purchased his first hive—a full setup with two deep boxes and two supers. I helped him assemble everything and set up the deep boxes for his colony. Right away, I was impressed with the quality of the boxes, although I only had a few hours to check them out. During that time, I noticed just one or two bees walking by the observation window, and it left me wanting to see more of their activity. Curious to experience it myself, I decided to purchase one of these observation boxes to see if it would live up to my expectations. Spoiler alert—it’s absolutely fantastic! My children, who enjoy beekeeping with me, love sitting down every now and then to watch the bees through the window. It’s a fascinating way to connect with the hive. This spring, I plan on purchasing full hive sets to get an even better view of the action. The craftsmanship of these boxes is top-tier—definitely a cut above many other companies that seem more focused on profit than quality. Assembly is straightforward, much like any other box, but the grooves are noticeably better designed compared to some competitors who cut corners. Overall, it’s been a great addition to our beekeeping journey!

When the box arrived. I saw it had contact information in England, Germany and as well in China. It was made in China. Surprise!! But you could deduct it might also be sold in Europe. What made me believe it is a good quality product. The manual was in color and had good quality and only in English. I was expecting German and Chinese as well. The hive is good in general. It also has a queen excluder and an entrance reducer. It was very easy to assemble. You need a rubber mallet to put the boxes together. I really liked the dovetail feature as other mentioned on their reviews. They even provide the nails to secure the frames. You don't need anything else but a hammer and a rubber mallet. Most ppl will be very happy with it. I prefer a screened bottom board. This one comes with a solid bottom board. So I had to buy one, also a hive stand. The observatory window is just on one side of the box. I was expecting to be on both sides like the Flowhive. The observation windows, aka window, was the feature that made me go for this product. It also has some openings. Take a look at the picture. I have mixed feelings about it. It might help to ventilate the hive during the summer. But I am afraid beetles, ants and other insects might get in. A strong hive can defend itself, a weaker one .... The frames are good. Also the waxed foundations. I like to have a wedged top bar frame. Where the bees build their own comb. I try not to use the foundations. Unfortunately, you can't modify those here. So I had to buy those too. As I mentioned, this hive is complete and you can start beekeeping right away. I got a hive stand, screened bottom board and wedged top bar based on my preference. You don't need it.

Leider keine Nut/Feder zwischen den Zargen, daher nicht einfach passgenau, leider keine Varoakontrolle mit einer Windel nicht möglich da kein Gitter sowie keine Einschubmöglichkeit vorhanden. ABS-Wand der Rahmen wurde von den Bienen (trotz Extrabehandlung mit Bienenwachs) nur schwer angenommen.

Very cheap made the wax has warn off already and it's only need outside about 4 months so it needs to be painted now the only cool thing about it is the observation windows the bee castle is a much better hive than this one

I ordered 2 of these and the first one to arrive was packaged really well, all pieces there and assembled easily. Second one was a couple days behind. This one came with a damaged top lid. Customer service sent a whole new set instead of just a lid which was great. However, the replacement set that came also had some of the frame pieces damaged. Again customer service was great and refunded me just over half of the cost. If they start packaging their products better to not have so many loose pieces being tossed around inside, this would probably solve their issues. , I may consider purchasing through them again. At this time though, I’m waiting. Deeps and mediums are well constructed with a nice wax coating. Easy assembly. The plastic viewing windows don’t last long. They warp with hot temps outside and I ended up taking them out of the boxes. Customer service gets 5 star reviews.

3 pieces of the deeps and 2 pieces of the supers were split and cracked in half. Half the frame bars were splitting or already cracked. When I opened the box there were chunks everywhere from random pieces. The wax almost seems, smells and taste like paraffin wax not natural beeswax.... And the viewing windows are a cloudy piece of acrylic, while I was expecting a clear viewing window on the boxes.

Didn’t come as described no opening on the sides damage top on one l ask for the exchange. On beginning of my complaint they set need 48 hours to review my case took them about week to respond. Missed second email so they closed case .
