Ordered this 6.5hp compactor as reviews were good and it is nice to have for my convenience. Better than renting. Used to tamp a 9X11 shed pad. Delivery was quick but according to Purolator, Vevor requested a signature. Not happy that I wasn't notified. Not only that, Purolator never notified me & there was someone at the house. Also, when I picked it up from Purolator, they didn't even help me load it on my truck. It's very heavy & bulky. It wasn't easy for a 68yo man to lift. I was just mad enough to get it done. I hope I never get another package from Purolator. They suck! As for the tamper, good value for the money. Used a couple coupons. Vevor needs to notify their customers when there will be something unusual about delivery. Vevor is usually pretty good at this, but not this time.

Well it work very well and easy to use. But sometimes it just turn off in the middle of what you are doing. What i like about it is you can slow it down. But like I said it just turn off is the down fall. All gas and oil is filled up and cleaned off after using it. Also what I like about it is not heavy at all and I can pick it up and load by myself.

I cannot say on the use of it as I purchase it during the winter , I have't even put gas in it to start it . My initial assessment is it is well built for the price . As usually, the instructions for assemble is hard to read , If not for previous purchasers and posting there same problems

The plate compactor, has been good little purchase. Curved edges on the sides, And better wheels on the back would make for much easier user friendly

Used now for roughly 10 to 15 hours. Only issue is the the breather for the fuel tank doesn’t work. Have to randomly open the fuel cap when it starts running rough. But outside of that works well.

Rented one from local rentalshops and paid nearly the same price for 1 month. Excellent value tool, bought one to do my driveway and other landscaping, and I will never rent one again.

Small, yet powerful compactor. Did the job quite well on 2 patios, total of 350 square feet. Easy to maneuver, but will dig down into material if you turn suddenly, requiring re-compaction. Would give 5 stars, but had to drill holes in rear of plate to attach pad for tamping pavers and locking sand. Otherwise a great product and would buy again as it is cheaper than renting a 200 lb compactor a few times to do the job.

I love this machine!!! Be warned of 2 things though- I have to run mine with the gas cap loose or it will not get enough fuel. I contacted customer service as I wanted a gas cap to drill a hole and add a pressure relief valve (like on an ATV) but I haven't heard back from them yet. The other thing is the sides of the plate could be taller- when I change directions, a lot of the loose media gets "scooped" up by the plate. It works amazingly well and I would definitely buy it again if something catastrophic happened to this one!!!!

It is a good little plate compactor - lots of power. Best to practice a little getting it started and shutting it off several times before going right to work with this one. It does burn oil as the engine works hard. Be sure to check the bottom reservoir first, else you will get the back one blowing out oil over the unit. Also, ensure you damp, but not soak the surface being compacted, otherwise the dust cloud will alert nosy neighbours and possibly the fire department. There is a sweet spot you need to get with the choke and throttle, else it will just bounce up and down or run in reverse. After an hour or two of practice you should realize where the sweet spot is for what you are compacting. Then it is effortless to move about. A worthwhile investment for me, then again, my gravel driveway is just under 1km long. Fortunately I have fuel sheds in different locations on my land. When properly dialed in, it works really well, at a good price - better than renting. Well made and tough. Vevor did goon on this, like most of their products.
