It's a start..
There were several panels of the 24 that were crushed at one edge that never did fully recover, but I really only needed 21 panels to cover my 36\" door, and 3 were trimmed so could lose a bad edge. Best to order a few more than you need if possible to avoid having to use a damaged one (apparently damaged by the extreme vacuum packaging, causing permanent deformation). I cleaned the door before application to make sure there was no dust, took my time and repositioned panels as necessary to leave no gaps, and they have stayed in place perfectly. I used simple scissors to cut out the contours as needed, used the backing as a surface on which to draw outlines. The adhesive was appropriate, not too sticky or too little, tacky enough making it somewhat difficult to pull off to reposition, but it didn't lose that tack and with a little stretching one could do a little coaxing to close gaps as well; gaps which will happen if one is not taking care with the alignment while applying, both vertically and horizontally as you go one row at a time. I do hope it is cutting down a little on sound making it to the other side of the door, though the common sound wavelengths are much longer than the thickness of this foam and thus it has little chance of trapping them. A middle C tone has a wavelength of 1.3 meters. Most of the sound likely passes right through. It's real function in acoustic applications is to cut down on rebounding of sound, off flat ceilings and walls, wood or tile floors require carpeting to do likewise. One would need a LOT of it to make a big (and noticeable) difference in a room, the more the better if you want a theatre environment. I would likely need to line all the walls in that hallway leading up to the door and put a runner carpet down to really make a difference in sound reaching and then passing through the door. The door itself is a much better sound blocker than the foam, the door seals are also vital and mine are great, save the bottom. I guess I'm
