I picked up the VEVOR 30×1‑inch variable‑speed belt grinder hoping for an affordable machine with decent capability for knife making and general metalwork. While the core grinder can perform well, several design and quality‑control problems showed up quickly, and buyers should be aware of them. 1. Flat‑Grinding Jig Cannot Be Used in a True Vertical Position The product photos show the grinder running perfectly vertical when the flat‑grinding attachment is installed. In reality, the bar that the jig mounts to is too long, and it physically contacts the upper wheel assembly before the machine can rotate upright. Because of this, the belt ends up leaning forward instead of standing straight up. This isn’t a setup mistake — it’s a geometry issue. Anyone expecting a proper vertical platen for flat grinding will be disappointed unless they shorten or modify the bar. 2. Base Alignment Is Off The mounting base does not line up square with the rest of the machine. This misalignment makes the machine feel “twisted” compared to how it should sit. 3. Electrical Failure: VFD/Interface Stopped Sending Power to the Motor After only a few hours of normal use, the motor didn’t burn out — the interface/VFD stopped delivering power to it. I verified the outlet and incoming power, which are fine. The controller simply quit outputting voltage to the motor with no warning or overload indicator. This points to a failure in the wiring harness, internal connectors, or the VFD board itself. Early controller failure is a serious reliability concern for a machine advertised as a 550W variable‑speed grinder. Overall Impression The grinder has potential and performs well when it’s running, but the combination of: a flat‑grinding jig that cannot achieve the advertised vertical position, a base that doesn’t align with the frame, and a VFD/controller that stopped powering the motor after a few hours makes it hard to recommend without major caveats. The design concept is good, but the execution and quality control are inconsistent. Buyers should be prepared for possible defects, modifications, or returns. About the rating... I do think this has potential to be very good value, but if I can't turn it on, well, it is useless.

Leider nicht zu gebrauchen, die Schleifbänder laufen ständig in eine Richtung weg. Dadurch ist das Gerät leider nicht zu gebrauchen, selbst nach umbaumaßnahmen

Die Maschine selbst ist richtig gut, aber leider hat meine an der großen Rolle einen Lagerschaden. Ich habe das reklamiert und mit Bildern und Videos dargestellt. Der Support hat den Fall zweimal geschlossen, ohne das Problem zu lösen, weil ich angeblich nicht geantwortet habe. Es wurde aber auf jede Nachricht sogar mehrfach geantwortet. Beim ersten mal wurde mir statt des gewünschten Ersatzteils oder kostenfreien Umtausches eine Erstattung von 20€ angeboten. Beim 2. Mal wurde dann eine vollständige Rückerstattung vorgeschlagen, wenn mittels Fotos die Zerstörung der Maschine dokumentiert wird. Glücklicherweise habe ich mich darauf nicht eingelassen, denn meine Antwort auf diesen Vorschlag wurde ja ebenfalls ignoriert. Der Support ist den Namen nicht wert und eine absolute Unverschämtheit. Ich werde sicher bei Vevor keine Geräte mehr kaufen. Dann lieber etwas mehr Geld ausgeben und einen vernünftigen Kundendienst haben, wenn was nicht funktioniert.

Item never arrived as courier refuse to deliver. Vevor did nothing to help and simply just refunded the money. Very disappointed with both the courier and supplier

Machine pas aux normes européennes de sécurité ! Bande non protégée par carter aux endroits non-utilisés. La tablette avant pivote intempestivement car non blocable en anti-rotation. Mon expérience d'achat personnelle s'est mal terminée.

I recently purchased a 2nd 72" x 2" grinder from Vevor. The delivery was excellent, it showed up quickly and in very good condition. The first unit purchased was for my home knife making workshop. It has been a very good grinder. It initially had some out of round and vibration issues with the large wheel, but i contacted customer service and received a new wheel very quickly. It has been a great machine ever since. However, with the 2nd unit that i ordered for my place of business, the results have not been so good. Mechanically, the machine is great. Other than a few loose bolts from the factory, it is great. When i got it unpacked and assembled, i plugged the grinder in to a 115 volt receptacle, since it is a 115 volt machine. It would not work, it just kicked the breaker every time. I am an electrician, so i know a little about that type of stuff. I immediately called customer support and gave them the entire rundown on the issue i was having. They said they would address it promptly, but it has now been over two weeks and there has been no resolution to my issue. i have received a few emails from the support line and they keep saying how important it is to get my issue resolved, but becasue of the complexity, they don't have a resolution yet. I do understand it takes time to get things resolved, but i am sitting here with a nearly $1000.00 grinder that i can not use in the manner in which it was sold to me, as a 115 volt machine. typically, customer service has been great, but the lack of communication on this issue has me second guessing my purchase. Hopefully, they will get this issue resolved soon and i can report back good results.

Pessima levigatrice per quanto concerne il lavoro da coltellinaio, la barra per il supporto della ruota, arco e piano di rettifica e la barra per il supporto del piano inclinabile sono ingombranti e creano problemi di spazio e movimento durante il lavoro, soprattutto sulla parte sinistra, in più la faccia anteriore della rettifica piana ha uno strato di grafite che si consuma creando un piano ondulato e rovinando così, il piano di appoggio della lama da lavorare. Ho chiesto se fosse possibile acquistare il braccio di un'altra levigatrice (dello stesso tipo) ma mi hanno risposto che non vendono pezzi singolarmente e ciò significa che se si dovesse rompere un pezzo qualsiasi la posso prendere e gettare via, soldi davvero spesi male, mi sto mangiando le mani per aver gettato tempo e soldi così inutilmente. Non sò se vada bene per altri lavori ma per quanto riguarda il mio, la sconsiglio vivamente!!! sono profondamente deluso.....

Grinder itself is an awesome little piece,but resign yourself to the fact you'll just have to buy another unit if in fact you need parts or support. 3 separate times I've submitted warranty requests or support,even offering to BUY parts to replace things and they basically told me they can't help. Then offer what amounts to a 20% off coupon to have to go buy an entire unit. I guess for the price you can't go wrong, and the grinder itself is an awesome unit to enter into knife making especially.

I sent photos from unboxing, they closed my support tickets. So terrible customer service unfortunately, but seems like a good machine..wont be recommending vevor after dealing with a tracking wheel that came from factory with holes in it.aside from the wheel being defective and not getting any support, the machine itself seems great.

I have had this machine a week and so far I have been unable to use it because the thing is total garbage. The belt wont track no matter what I do to adjust anything and everything. the square tube that the other piece goes into looks like discarded remnants and the accesory just flops around in the hole. Funny, I dont see the same issue with the free machines being sent to youtubers. the tracking wheel has a ton of problems. The adjustment wheel is not sitting straight. I have done everything to try and fix that issue, and it is still sitting at a tilted cant. The needle bearings riding on cheap washers are already digging into the washers because needle bearings should not be riding on simple washers. I had to machine some stainless washer/bushings to address that. The plate that holds the adjustment wheel doesn't fully support the washers/bushings. the sleeve pin looks like it was rough ground by hand and the base of that pin needed trued up int he lathe, and its free floating, not sure why but that pin should be pressed into the plate and welded secure so the adjustment wheel rides on that pin instead of relying on clamping pressure to force the adjustment wheel straight. I tried adjusting the motor, and no luck there either, the motor is sitting all way at the end of its adjustment travel. THAT ALONE SHOULD BE A RED FLAG. I have gone over everything and the belt will not track properly and sticks off the front rollers. This means I cant grind on that, if I make the adjustment so the belt is centered on the front wheels, the belt is then overhanging on the adjustment wheel and thats still a problem because one, that's not how that should be and 2, that overhand will cause the belts on it to come undone and destroy themselves. And I have invested in 3 very expensive belts and Im not going to let those belts be ruined because vevor is scamming the public on trash machines. The base has an elongated curve in it so it doesn't sit flat on the table, and it rocks back and forth. I had to put a heavy bar mat under it to take up that bend so it would not rock back and forth. WHERE IS THE ON AND OFF SWITCH? Previous belt grinders had them. The VFD has no protection from grinding dust entering it and gosh, I wonder what issues will result from that. I had to buy an expensive 30 amp on and off switch so I could turn this machine on and off. The large wheel that came with this has deep nicks in the wheel. Since when is it ok to send stuff like this to customers? Vevor needs to be held accountable at a much higher level than just their corporate complaint dept.
