Crow Patrol This drill is twice as good as i expected.
I purchased the Mag Drill to do some additional work to a new trailer, adding sideboards all around. This will require me to drill 120+ 5/16" holes in 1/4" angle iron frame supports. Not something I wanted to do with a hand drill. So I purchased this drill, and I am simply amazed. I just got it today and have just unboxed it. This drill is a monster. I expected something on the size of a hand drill with a magnetic mount. This drill is industrial quality and so much more useful that I imagined. I'm in Texas and the trailer is in full sun at 103 degrees outside, so I am waiting for an umbrella to arrive so I can work in the shade. But I will report back on how this drill worked soon.
Update the next day... I put the drill to use on my trailer. This only confirms my previous review. This drill is so handy. Having the ability to engage the magnet and have the drill be VERY solidly attached to the metal surface allowed me to drill numerous holes with littl effort.
This unit is heavy, about 45 lb, and I was clamping it to a vertical surface to drill hole in the side rails. So that was a little cumbersome. But I quickly figured out that a spacer of the correct size allowed me to position the unit and turn on the mag for great precision.

I bought this for drilling holes in steel plate during fabrication jobs around the shop. What a game changer. Was looking at getting a mag drill for years, but wasn't to keen on paying the prices that companies like Milwaukee charge. For a guy like myself, that isn't drilling holes in steel beams all day, the price was right! This drill is a beast, and is the Cockford Ollie. Totally recommend.
