This is the 3rd heating season we will be using this. It's a better unit and that's what U pay for. It runs off a car battery with a charger sitting on the battery to keep it charged. It only draws 1A when running and about 5A during start up with the glow plug for 3 minutes. It's fully automatic and comes up to speed like a tiny jet engine in a box. It blows out 180F degree air. We also use one in a little well house and it puts out 225F air on low using 1/2 gal a day of kero. This unit is used in a rock basement to keep it above freezing when it's 20 below zero outside with 50 mile an hour blizzards roaring outside for days on end. We only run it on the lower setting which uses about a gallon a day. It starts right up and will run 24/7 all through the cold months of December January & February. You fill it up twice a day and it's not even empty. We blow it down and into the corner with the pipes sitting on top of two 5 gal pails, and it creates a circulation around the entire rock basement of this 140 yr old farm house. It keeps the basement temps at 40F or higher. Soon as it goes back up to 20F+ outside the basement temp goes all the way up to 60 down there. This is used in place of a blast space heater which has to be on a on off time which ran 2 to 4 gallons a day.! That's 4-5X as much as this unit uses. The savings in fuel is 5-10X the cost of the heater by now. Absolutely recommend it.
