The frame feels sturdy, the drum turns smoothly, and the 50 foot cable gives plenty of reach for household drain problems that smaller snakes can't touch. The included cutter heads are useful for different types of blockages, and the whole setup feels considerably more substantial than the little handheld units I've used. Manual feeding takes some attention because you have to manage the cable instead of letting the machine do everything for you. Once I got the rhythm down it wasn't difficult... and considering what a plumber visit can cost, this feels like a pretty solid value to keep around.

Great value! I have recurring tree roots in my outdoor sewer that I have fought for years. In the recent years I have had to rent a similar auger (drain cleaner) from the local hardware store. So, this year I purchased my own at the same price and even a little less than what it would have cost to rent. This Drain cleaner was easy to assemble and use. If you are ever in need of a auger I highly recommend this one. It has plenty if power and is well constructed. It comes with several different end tips that are easy to change out and the instructions show which bit to use per your clogging problem. This auger is efficient, powerful, and easy to use to clear your drain. Great value for the money!!

Brilliant tool. Very powerful motor. Need to be careful if your glove gets caught in it. Only use the gloves that come with it or something similar. I was able to clear a drain blocked with tree roots with this.

I bought this because a friend was having to call a plumber out every six months or so to clear roots from the sewer outside her house and was about to call again when she asked me why the roots keep growing back. This had been going on since she bought the house seven years ago. I figured if I bought a snake I could clear it for her every time it started to backup, and save her some money. This thing pulled quite a bit of roots out of the drain. It has plenty of power to clear a clog and was easy to use. It got the job done. I ran a camera down the pipe afterward and found a spot where the tree roots were growing in through a broken joint. I dug it up and replaced that section of pipe and now everything is good. And I now have a reliable snake (drain cleaner) that I can use to help others.
