I got this single rush grass tatami mat as part of my experiment in how to sleep cooler. I dumped a queen size memory foam mattress, box springs, and metal bed frame. I bought separate pieces that I could play around with to see what worked for me. I started with a new queen size metal bed frame with a grid top, 2 separate coconut coir mattress pads that side-by-side fit a queen bed frame, a single shikifuton, and a foam mattress pad. From experimenting with different arrangements of these items I found what worked for me. I slept cooler and didn't wake up at night anymore because I was overheated. After two months, I decided to replace the single bed size items with items for a queen size bed. I made a couple of other changes as well.
